BIOGRAPHY SEBASTIAN WEIS

I’m an award winning filmmaker, producer and DoP based in Berlin. I studied literature, psychology and history of art and have completed a traineeship in journalism in Berlin. During the last nine years I have produced and directed all forms of factual programs  -from short films to current affairs features and long form documentaries, covering stories globally. I conducted a number of journalistic investigations worldwide and know how to use state-of-the-art technology to retrieve and represent information in the digital age. I have significant experience working in difficult and hostile environments, including conflicts in the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa. I know how to creatively use a wide range of video production equipment, including the Arri Amira, Sony FS7 as well as sound, lighting, gimbals and editing in Adobe Premiere.

I am holding a clean German driving license and have a hostile environment and emergency first aid certificate from the German Army.
